(12/09/07) Hi from a fellow bike-adventurer!
love what you two are doing!
I'm a kiwi who kinda lives in London and am very into cycling and cycle touring. I was talking to
a friend of mine - I think it was Yusuf - this evening at Pogo cafe (I work there sometimes -
my political views are quite similar to yours) and he told me about you and your trip to NZ...
This is exactly what I'd like to do the next time I return, which won't be for 5 or so years probably
as I just got back from 6 months there. I've read travelogues of other people who cycled UK ->
NZ and it sounds amazing - although most of them did it before the Middle East flared up so much
due to the cowboy president!
Incidentally, I just returned from a 65 day tour in W. Europe, visiting a friend in Berlin who
told me just after I left that she might be going to Spain for a few weeks on a last-minute work
experience opportunity... so I took a rather scenic route! I've done a map similar to yours, with
photos at many locations along the way and I've written up some stats that you might find interesting too.
If you have a spare moment some time, take a look at:

Cheers,
Ash

(12/10/07) Claire,
Hello - now in China aye?
Well - so how far away does that make you from getting back here to NZ?
Wohoooo.
I would love to hear all about where you're at and how it's going?
All is really good in my world - oh so busy with work. Maddie is coming to stay next week - yipeee.
I have a great summer planned. I have five weeks off - so lots of fun excursions - Parihaka, Onekaka and potentially
a vipassana course.
We'll see.
xxxx Kate

(26/08/07) Hey, this is Travis, from Thorn Tree - the guy in Vietnam. I've actually been stuck in Nha Trang for a few days now. The rain has been horrible and I somehow managed to lose my debit card, so I will be here for a week or so waiting for a new one to arrive in the mail. I'm not sure you'll find a lot of useful riding information on my blog, it's more a confused mess of rambling, haha, but that would be cool if we could meet up somewhere. If you have any questions about routes just let me know on my blog or through e-mail at travisbernard@hotmail.com If we can meet up somewhere that would be cool. It's always nice to meet fellow bikers. And, I'd definitely recommend that you guys take the Dalat route through to Saigon. There are some climbs but it's a quiet rode with nice scenery. Talk to ya later Travis
(27/10/07) Greetings our dear friends, we are very glad that have received your card from China. Actually we not
in hard drinking, it is simple at us difficulty with English language and consequently we do not write to you very
often, but we on you very much miss and very much-very you we love. We with friends very much for you experience
and we hope that you will be very cautious in your adventure across Vietnam. It is not very a pity that the Internet
translator can express all our feelings and love that we to you test. We on you very much miss.
P.S.? Us there have arrived parents, so at us now difficulties with habitation and a lodging for the night. To us
temporarily to have to live at our friends but it is not terrible. There is a Russian saying: " we shall be alive
- we shall not die. "
P.S 2. If you of that do not understand that in it the translator which we is guilty have loaded from the
Internet!!!!!!!!! We love, we kiss, we dream of a meeting, yours Dod, Lida and all Moscow which loves you
and waits again for your visit. We hope that our letter will transfer you a droplet of heat that we have
for you.
P.s 3. At us the first snow has dropped out!!!!!!!!
(28/10/07) Hi there
Just discovered your website and realised you're doing this trip right
now. I'll follow your progress with interest because we plan to cycle
from southern China to Indonesia (hopefully Sumatra and Java at least)
via Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand next year. Have you any notion how
long that stretch might take?! We'll have five months.
Bad luck, you missed the launch of Deirdre's new live album 'Tune up
Turn on Stretch out', here
Best of luck

(28/10/07) Hi there!
Just a note to say that I met up with Claire and Tabitha in Hanoi. I was staying
at the same place for a few days there visiting Robin and Luyen Shell. I was really impressed by these
two gals, their obvious love of the road, for humanity and for being all round great people. Last
I saw of them they were off to Halong Bay, 150 klm. Basically I felt like my jaw was on the floor
and could only remember the days when I was young and totally at the mercy of the road and kind hearted folk.
OK then, best wishes to you both. I will check in to see how things are going!

(4/12/07)Hey ladies. Damn fine work. I’ve just checked in, having not looked since Russia. Knackered just reading it, it’s insanely inspiring, you do realise that. All through the Bicycology tour this year your mission was exhibit A when I was talking to kids, and they were all blown away by the notion. You’re looking like you’re on splendid form. Good luck out there. We missed you on the (often soggy) English roads this summer. The tandems not the same without you. Trailer loads of love from the whole posse. Lizxxx
(20/12/07)Seasons greetings & love to Tabitha & Claire in tropical Cambodia, from Pauline, Alan & Michael from a warm NZ,

Shall we send your stockings out for you to hang up?
Hope Santa finds a chimney to climb down.... and some snow to slide his sleigh on.
(24/12/07)Happy Christmas Tabitha and Claire! It's great to be able to see all the photos and follow your adventures. Best wishes for the New Year and the rest of your trip, lots of love from Monica, Tony, Catherine and Michael xxx
